I know it doesn’t look like I’ve been up to much but it’s been a busy summer working on two projects, one of which is a site for Rosie Smith of Paws Indoors, the mobile vet service. The site is now live with a set of cuddly (and one not so cuddly) animals on the homepage.
This is a small website but shows that you don’t need loads of information and loads of pages to get the message across. The main purpose of the site is to explain briefly what the service is, but more importantly to give people contact details up front – if you need a vet in a hurry you don’t need to be digging around for the phone numbers.

If you’ve got a small site with ‘static’ information that won’t change very often, you still want it to appear fresh. I did this by having a different image show up every time you reload the homepage, along with a different customer testimonial – another important way of getting the message across that your service is reliable and trusted.
Being a mobile vet Rosie spends a lot of time away from the office. For that reason having an online enquiry form that sends enquiries as emails may not be as effective as it is for other people, so we’re looking at ways of getting enquiries submitted online sent as SMS messages to Rosie’s mobile. That way, she can get enquiries immediately without waiting to get back to her office and check the email.
