I’m pleased to say that after many hours of effort – mainly from Tom Haczewski
, but with a bit from myself and other colleagues at Virgin Money
– the new brand identity and website for the Green Light Trust
has been launched.

The Green Light Trust are a dedicated group of talented environmental professionals who provide valuable services for schools, communities and businesses with the aim of ‘bringing communities to life through working with nature.’
They have a long-standing relationship with Virgin Money, and last year we spoke to them about the idea of providing a new brand identity and website as part of Virgin’s commitment to giving each staff member a day per year to do voluntary work for good causes.
To start with we came up with some wireframes showing how the structure for the site could work. Then, while the copywriters started work on all the text for the new pages, a few of us from the E-Commerce Team came up with some concepts for design and layout, including my effort:

There have been several of us involved over the past six odd months and yes, it took far more than a day of our time (for Tom in particular!) but the end result (based on Tom’s design) has been well worth the wait:

As well as the site design, the new brand (within hidden symbol in the wellies!) plus the build and integration into a content management system (so the guys at the Green Light Trust can look after the content themselves in the future) came from Tom. My main contribution was to come up with the background images and the different featured wildlife pictures you get at the foot of each page. I also came up with the maps you see dotted around the site.
To see the site in action, and to find out more about the excellent work the Green Light Trust do, visit www.greenlighttrust.org
. If you want to donate to the Trust to help them continue their valuable work, visit them on Virgin Money Giving
, where you can find out how to donate or raise money for the Trust.
Still on a charity theme, the new site I’ve done for the Hempnall Trust will be live very soon. News on that coming in a few weeks, all being well.
Thanks for the mentions! You did more than you give yourself credit for – it’s only pretty because you made it pretty!
Anyway, I think we did good
